AEO-9 (Fatty Alcohol Polyoxyethylene Ether, also known as Pingjia-9) is the most commonly used nonionic surfactant. It is obtained by adding C12-C14 fatty alcohols (bay alcohol/coconut oil alcohol) to 9mol of epoxyethane. Physical and chemical indicators (conventional industrial grade)
-Appearance (25 ℃): Milky white paste/light yellow viscous liquid, turns into transparent liquid when heated above 40 ℃
-HLB: 13-14, O/W oil in water hydrophilic emulsifier
-Cloud point (1% aqueous solution): 78-82 ℃
-PH (1% aqueous solution): 6.0-7.0 (near neutral)
